[vc_column_text css=””]Aldershaw specialise in ‘truly handmade clay tiles’, for the roof, wall and floor.A ‘truly handmade tile’ is not extruded and placed in a mould; traditionally the clay is ‘HAND THROWN’ into wooden moulds to recreate copies from original samples or drawings. Where there is no original, the hand-moulder has the expertise to create it and, where the original cannot be improved upon, copies can be reproduced in a varied range of tiles and fittings for the construction of new buildings. Being small and truly handmade we are able to respond to these requests.
We have been in existence since mid 1980’s, situated in 33 acres of ancient woodland in the heart of the Sussex countryside.
Our products are made from Wadhurst clay, dug here on site which was laid down some 150 million years ago. We generate six different colours for our roof tiles to blend sympathetically with anything in the region and provide our customers with a palette from which to create the effect that they require.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″]
There is nothing like the real thing – a brick or tile handmade in the traditional manner with natural materials which have changed little over the centuries.
Aldershaw have devoted their skills to the manufacture of bricks and tiles for restoration to assist with the preservation of old buildings as well as producing superior handmade tiles for contemporary work.[/vc_column_text]
